Baseball/Softball

T-Ball, Mite Baseball, Youth Softball or Baseball and Adult Softball

Registration for the Ken-Ton Kiwanis T-Ball league begins on February 2nd from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Youth, Parks & Recreation Office at 2440 Sheridan Drive and continues until April 18, 2008. Non-residents may register April 1-18th if spots are available.  Registration is limited to the first 180 paid participants or April 18th.
The cost of the program will be:
Residents:  $50.00 without candy or $75.00 with candy
Non-residents:  $75.00 without candy or $100.00 with candy

This fee includes: Individual Instruction, League Games, T-Shirt Jersey, and Pizza Party in recognition of all participants. Players will also be given 52 candy bars to sell or eat. Please realize the candy sales will help defray the costs for each participant.

After candy bar sales, the 8-week program will cost $23.00 per resident player and $48.00 per non-resident player.
The league is open to 5- and 6-year-olds not participating in organized baseball. Players must be 5 but may not turn 7 before Aug. 1, 2008.
The 8-week T-ball program, held at Lincoln Park, runs May 31st through July 26th with an end of season pizza party immediately folowing on July 26th.  The goals of the program are to teach the basic skills and knowledge of baseball, including sportsmanship. Checks should be made payable to “Town of Tonawanda.”

Mite Baseball (Formerly Machine Pitch)
Formerly known as the Machine Pitch program, the new Ken-Ton Kiwanis Mite Baseball league, open to 7 and 8 year-olds, provides competitive play using pitching machines, coaches or skilled players. Players must be 7 and may not turn 9 before August 1, 2008. Registration begins February 2, 2008 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Youth, Parks & Recreation Office at 2440 Sheridan Drive and continues until April 18, 2008. Registration is limited to the first 180 paid participants or April 18th.
  Practices run from May 31st to June 19th, and games take place June 21st through July 26th. Practices and games are held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights on a rotating basis and every Saturday morning at 10:00am or 12:00pm.  Games are five innings long and are played at various Town diamonds. All baseball rules will be followed, but standings won’t be recorded.
The cost of the program will be:
Residents:  $60.00 without candy or $85.00 with candy
Non-residents:  $75.00 without candy or $100.00 with candy

This fee includes: Up to 8 League Games, T-Shirt Jersey, Hat, and Pizza Party in recognition of all participants.

Youth Softball and Baseball
Registration for all Ken-Ton Kiwanis youth baseball and softball teams begins February 2, 2008 at the Youth, Parks & Recreation Office, 2440 Sheridan Drive, Suite 105 from 9:00am - 12:00pm..  Players may also register with their parish or YMCA athletic association, if they participate, or mail in registration forms.  Non-Resident Registration is from April 1, 2008 to April 11, 2008.
The league is open to boys and girls in the following age groups: 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16 (boys only) and 17-18 (boys only). Youth baseball ages 9-17 (must be 9 by 8/1/2008 and cannot be 18 before 8/1/2008).  Youth softball ages 9-14 (must be 9 before 8/1/2008 and cannot turn 15 before 8/1/2008).  Games from May 27 through July 27, 2008 are played on Town diamonds and officiated by NFOA umpires. Playoffs will begin in late July and early August with most ending by August2, 2008.  Registration is $40 for 9- to 14-year-olds and $50 for 15- to 17-year-olds. Non-resident registration is $75.00 per player.  However, there will be additional costs for uniforms and parties, to be collected by each team.

Adult Softball
Big kids can play, too! The Town of Tonawanda offers men’s and women’s slow pitch or fast pitch softball leagues. So if you have a team, or would like to join one, please call 831-1001.
